Certified Coding Specialist (CCS)

 

Course objectives

By the end of training in CCS, you will be able to:

  • Elucidate the flow of health information within departments of a facility and provide an overview of the payment systems
  • Define the roles and responsibilities of a coder and coding guidelines in both inand out-patient facilities 
  • Discuss the steps of health-record documents interpretation with the participant’s knowledge of
    anatomy, physiology, clinical disease processes, and medical terminology
  • Define reimbursement methodologies and documentation rules and regulations
  • Acquire knowledge and skills and practice questions to pass the CCS examination administered by AHIMA

  • Minimum 2 years of coding experience OR CCA/CPC certified with 1 yr coding experience
